Ascona: 196 m. With its unique atmosphere in a picturesque bay, this is a wellknown holiday resort directly by the Lago Maggiore, 4 km west from Locarno. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: railway station Locarno. Bus service. There is a beautiful pedestrian centre, with many fashion shops, second hand book shops, art galleries and several museums. In summer there is a Jazz festival Festa New Orleans Music. Whilst in Autumn there are international music weeks. For arrivals by plane: airport Lugano (LUG), Milano-Malpensa (MXP), Zürich (ZRH).
Activities: During summer time: It is possible to hire a boat. Beach. Sailing, surfing, water skiing. Tennis (28 outdoor courts), golf course 18 hole. Riding. Fitness course.
