Mikolajki: Well-known, busy holiday resort, 20 km from Mragowo, 30 km from Gizycko, 85 km from Olsztyn. In the resort: shops, post office, bank, restaurant, disco, concerts, evening entertainment. Access: railway station in the resort. Bus service. Town called Pearl of Mazur by poets. Mikolajki is situated on the track of the Large Mazurskie Lakes, between Mikolajki Lake and Talty Lake. It is well known touristic and sports resort. Widely known junction of water tracks. Marked water routs lead on to the south from Okratowo (through Sniardwy and Jagielinski Channel, 28 km) and to Ruciane (through Beldany, 24 km). There is a north track that leads to Ryn and through the channels to Gizycko (41 km) and further to Wegorzewo. There is Mazurski Panoramic Park (a great variety of trees, unique species of plants, peat-bogs, more that 200 species of birds and wild animals) only few kilometers from Mikolajki. There is a festival of nautic song, so called szanty held in Mikolajki every summer time. There is a panoramic promenade r uns along Mikolajki Lake next to the yacht harbour (to Gizycko, Ruciane and to Popielna). For arrivals by plane: airport Warszawa (WAW) 225 km, Gdansk (GDN) 255 km.
