This town with its 25000 inhabitants is a few kilometres south-east of Perugia, in one of the most picturesque areas of Umbria. Besides a lovely panoramic view the town offers a marvelous variety of places of cultural and historical interest. Worthseeing the cathedral of S. Francesco where he was buried. The Cappella della Porziuncola inside the Cathedral of S Maria degli Angeli, the church of S Damiano, the church of S Rufino, the Cathedral of Santa Chiara and many others.
