Excursions in and around Erfurt and Weimar are popular and interesting and should not be excluded from your holiday plans. Worth seeing: Schmiedefeld (12 km) and its mines and the summer tobogganing in Erbsttal (25 km). For arrivals by plane: airport Erfurt (ERF) 81 km, Leipzig (LEJ) 155 km.
