Kaysersberg:
Kaysersberg is on the wine route in the heart of the Alsace vineyards. This well-known medieval town with imperial castle is situated at the foot of the Vogesen massif. Also known for its Christmas market which takes place on the 4 weekends before Christmas. Birthplace of Dr Schweitzer. Museums, numerous free wine-tasting sessions in wine cellars. Seasonal entertainment. Small city with 3500 inhabitants, 11 km from Colmar, 5 km from Riquewihr. In the resort: shops, butchers, bakers, restaurant. Besides: chemist, doctor. Access: railway station SNCF Colmar 12 km. Bus service. Ideal starting point for hikes. Lac Blanc station, 19 km (ski runs, cross-country routes).
